Very happy to start my career with Mohanlal Sir : Zoya Zayed Khan

Mohanlal is currently shooting for 1971 Beyond Borders directed by Major Ravi in Rajasthan. Apart from Mohanlal the movie has an ensemble cast, including Telugu actor Allu Sirish and Bollywood actor Arunoday Singh.

Now the latest addition to the cast is actress Zoya Zayed Khan, a North Indian by birth. She has been living in Kerala for the past few years.

Zoya has said that her character in the movie is not a typical heroine kind. She is playing a Pakistani doctor in the war movie. All the characters in the movie are army officers in with equal importance to everyone.

Reportedly Zoya’s portion appears in Mohanlal’s character’s flashback. Interestingly, Zoya has a Pakistani background in real life too. Her father is originally from Kabul.

Director Major Ravi spotted her in a serial and cast her for the movie. The actress says her director is very disciplined and always wants the best out of his actors. Major Ravi is apparently happy with Zoya’s performance.

Zoya has been working hard in the industry for the past 10 years doing serials, modelling and anchoring. Finally her hardwork has paid off. The actress says she is very lucky to act in her debut movie with two of her favourite actors Mohanlal and Arunoday Singh.

Zoya Zayed Khan will not have any combination scenes with Mohanlal. Her portions are mostly with Arunoday Singh.

The movie also stars Renji Panicker, Saiju Kurup, Sudheer Karamana and mode turned actress Priyanka Agarwal in supporting roles.

1971 : Beyond Borders is based on the 1971 war between India and Pakistan. Sujith Vassudev is the cinematographer for this war movie. It is a budget movie produced by Haneef Mohammed under the banner Red Rose Creations.
