Mohanlal’s Telugu movie Manamantha was a box office flop ?

Mohanlal earlier this year made his debut in Telugu cinema with the movie Manamantha. The movie directed by Chandra Sekhar Yeleti received positive reviews and critical acclaim.

But the movie could not do well business wise and ended up as a box office failure, says reports from Tollywood.

Manamantha was a trilingual made in Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam. The movie was about many stories happening in a day. Mollywood superstar Mohanlal played the main lead in the movie. Gautami, Urvashi, and Viswant Duddumpudi played other important roles in the movie.

Mohanlal received appreciation for his effortless performance but the absence of a regional star affected the movie in the box office.

Reports from Tollywood claim that the producer of the movie, Sai Korrapati of Varaahi Chalanachitram banner had a tragic result with Manamantha.

Heavy duty casting with Mohanlal in lead along with high budget on tri-lingual production incurred heavy losses for the company.

Mohanlal’s next release in Telugu Janatha Garage was a blockbuster at the box office.
