Movies to release without Exhibitiors Federation’s co-operation; Ezra to hit screens on 19th

It has been almost a month since the Exhibitors Federation called for a strike over profit share issues. Even after the several rounds of discussions, there seems to be no settlement over the issue. The producers association have now decided to release movies without the co-operation of the Exhibitors Federation.

Many rounds of discussions were held between the two parties with the cultural affairs Minister AK Balan acting as a meditator, but they have failed to reach a consensus.

In the current scenario, producers association have decided to release movies in theatres that can agree upon the existing 60-40 shares, government screens and all the B Class theatres. According to the producers, new movies will release on January 12, 19 and 26 dates.
