Mukesh and Sai Kumar to join Mammootty in CBI 5
Mukesh and Sai Kumar to join Mammootty in CBI 5
‘CBI 5’, the final installment in the popular CBI franchise, is likely to go on floors as soon as the restrictions over film shoots are lifted. The film marks the reunion of the trio of Mammootty, director K Madhu and script writer SN Swamy. The makers are currently busy with the pre-production works which includes finalizing the cast and crew.
SN Swamy has revealed that along with Mammootty, ‘CBI 5’ will also have Mukesh and Sai Kumar in important roles. Mukesh will be reprising his role of Chacko, Sethurama Iyer’s loyal subordinate. It must be noted that the actor has been part of all four installments in the series. In the first part, ‘Oru CBI Diary Kurippu’, Chacko was a police constable. In the other three films, he was part of the CBI investigation team.
In ‘CBI 5’, Sai Kumar will be reprising the character of DYSP Sathyadas. In the CBI franchise, Sathyadas is the son of Devadas, a character essayed by late actor Sukumaran in the first two films — ‘Oru CBI Diary Kurippu’ and ‘Jagratha’. Sai Kumar has appeared only in the third part ‘Sethurama Iyer CBI’.
‘CBI 5’ shoot was originally planned to begin in June. Since the film demands a lot of outdoor shoot and the involvement of several artists, the makers are waiting for the situation to get better.
