Nani and Samantha to star in the Telugu remake of ’96’

’96’, the romantic drama starring Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha is the current talk of the town. Directed by debutant Prem Kumar, 96 is a poignant tale of how two childhood sweethearts meet after two decades. The movie is getting unanimous appreciation from all corners. Critics and commoners alike have rated it as one of the finest romantic flicks that have come out of Tamil cinema it recent years.

With the unanimous praise, it is only normal that talks about remake versions have started. Telugu producer Dil Raju had bagged the movie’s remake rights even before its theatrical release. If reports are to be believed, Nani and Samantha will be starring in the Telugu version of the movie. Reportedly, the producer had recently arranged a special screening for both the actors, who were totally impressed by the film. It is said that Nani was even moved to tears and he immediately agreed to be part of the remake.

Nani and Samantha have previously worked together in Gautham Menon’s Yeto Vellipoyindi Manasu and SS Rajamouli’s Eega. So, they both share a good on-screen chemistry. An official announcement of the Telugu remake with details regarding the director and when the movie goes the floors is expected to be made shortly.
