Naslen-Abhinav Sundar Nayak’s ‘Mollywood Times’ Gears Up for Shoot; Filming to Begin in Late 2025

Director Abhinav Sundar Nayak’s highly anticipated second film, Mollywood Times, is set to move into its pre-production phase, with shoot preparations kicking off in May 2025. Starring rising star Naslen in the lead, the film has already generated buzz with its intriguing tagline, “A Hate Letter to Cinema.” Produced by Ashiq Usman under Ashiq Usman Productions, the project is expected to start rolling by August or September, provided there are no delays in the schedule.

Following the success of Mukundan Unni Associates, Abhinav Sundar Nayak is making his return to direction after carving a niche for himself with his dark comedy storytelling. Mollywood Times is one of the most awaited films from Malayalam cinema, as it is expected to delve into the industry’s workings with a satirical twist. With Malayalam cinema already seeing films like Varshangalkku Sesham and Nadikar exploring the “inside cinema” theme, fans are eager to see what Abhinav brings to the table with his unique vision.

Naslen, who is currently one of the busiest young actors in Mollywood, will first be seen in Alappuzha Gymkhana, directed by Khalid Rahman, which is slated for release on April 10, 2025. He is also set to star in Premalu 2 and a film by Kumbalangi Nights director Madhu C Narayanan. With Mollywood Times officially moving forward, 2025 is shaping up to be a milestone year for Naslen and Abhinav alike.
