Nayanthara, Vignesh Shivan blessed with twin boys, controversy erupts

Celebrity couple Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan have been blessed with twin baby boys. Though the couple has not confirmed yet, it is reported that they became parents through surrogacy. Breaking the big news, Vignesh Shivan tweeted,

Nayan & me have become Amma & Appa. We are blessed with
twin baby boys. All our prayers,our ancestors’ blessings combined wit all the good manifestations made, have come together in the form of two blessed babies for us. Need all ur blessings for our Uyir and Ulagam

Meanwhile, a controversy has erupted regarding how the celebrity couple opted for surrogacy and whether they followed all the legal procedures. Tamil Nadu state has said that they would examine the matter and seek explanation from the two.

Surrogacy laws in India were amended in January this year. According to the new regulations, commercial surrogacy is completely prohibited, and only altruistic surrogacy is legal, which means the surrogate mother should be genetically related to the newborns.

All eyes are now on official statement from Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara regarding how they went about with the process.
