New narrative style with Suriya’s mesmerising performance; Ace cinematographer PC Sreeram about his next with Gautham Menon

As reported by us recently, Suriya and director Gautham Vasudev Menon are reuniting after a 12-year-long gap. It is for a segment in the upcoming anthology ‘Navarasa’ that will be streaming in Netflix. PC Sreeram is wielding the camera and shoot has already started. It seems like the veteran is having a great time working on the film.

Last day, he tweeted about how the film has a new narrative style and Suriya’s amazing performance in it. Along with sharing a location pic taken with Gautham Menon, PC tweeted,

It is worth a mention that PC Sreeram was also the DOP of Gautham Menon’s most recent work ‘Avarum Naanum/Avalum Naanum’, a short film in the anthology ‘Putham Pudhu Kaalai’ that got released in Amazon Prime Video last day.

‘Navarasa’ is an ambitious project that is being made for the welfare of the Tamil film industry members. Several big names are collaborating for this project, which is a compilation of 9 short films. Apart from Gautham Menon, directors like Karthik Subbaraj, Karthick Naren, KV Anand, Ponram, Rathindran Prasad, Arvind Swami, Bejoy Nambiar and Halitha Shameem are also helming a segment each.

The anthology is said to be based on Navarasas, the 9 human emotions, and each film will be based on one particular emotion. The cast includes Suriya, Arvind Swami, Vijay Sethupathi, Revathy, Nithya Menen, Parvathy Thiruvoth, Siddharth, Aishwarya Rajesh, Poorna, Rythvika, Prakash Raj, Gautham Karthik, Prasanna, Bonny Simha, Vikranth, Ashok Selvan and many others. Composers like AR Rahman, Ghibran, Imman, Justin Prabhakaran, Govind Vasantha and Ron Ethan Yohann are also part of the project.

All of them are working in the film without remuneration, with only the costs of production being associated. Mani Ratnam and Jayendra Panchapakesan are jointly producing the project.
