Nivin Pauly dedicates his award to Manikandan Achari and Vinayakan

Nivin Pauly has extended his fan base outside Kerala considerably in the past two years. He is very popular among the Tamil audience thanks to the success of his movies like Neram, Premam, Action Hero Biju etc.

Behindwoods, a leading online portal based in Kollywood industry, recently held their annual awards show in Chennai. Dulquer Salmaan, Nivin Pauly and Sai Pallavi represented the Malayalam industry. While Dulquer won the award for Best Actor (Critics Choice) for his performance in Kammattipaadam, Nivin won the award for Best Actor In a Lead Role for his performance in Jacobinte Swargarajyam and Action Hero Biju.

Interestingly, it was Dulquer who presented the award to Nivin Pauly. After receiving the award, Nivin expressed his gratitude to the audience for the constant support. He added that there were more worthy and better performances in Mollywood last year. So, he dedicated his award to Manikandan Achari and Vinayakan, both of whom were terrific in Rajeev Ravi’s widely acclaimed Kammattipaadam.

Vinayakan and debutant Manikandan Achari won numerous awards last year including the Kerala State Award, best actor and best second actor respectively. It is a truly appreciable gesture from Nivin to dedicate his awards to two lesser known actors and admit that they were the better performers.
