Nivin Pauly’s new Tamil movie titled as Richie

Youth star Nivin Pauly’s new Tamil movie directed by debutant Gautham Ramachandran is gearing up for release. The movie was earlier speculated to have many titles- Avargal, Santa Maria. But now the makers have finally zeroed in on Richie as the title.

The director himself announced the title of the movie. “We have fixed Richie as the title and it is Nivin’s name in the film. We had considered a lot of options and producers Anand Kumar and Vinod Shornur felt that Richie would be perfect for the film. The title design and the first look poster will be released in the coming week.”

Currently, the post-production work of the movie is underway in Chennai. Nivin Pauly himself is dubbing for the movie. This is the first time the actor is dubbing in Tamil so he is taking a lot of time getting the diction right. According to the director, almost 75% of the dubbing port has been wrapped up. The makers are planning to release the movie this summer.

Richie is the official remake of super hit Kannada movie, Ulidavaru Kandanthe. The Tamil version will focus on two important characters played by Nivin Pauly and Natty aka Natarajan Subramanian. The movie stars Shraddha Srinath, Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramoul, Prakash Raj, Elango Kumaravel, GK Reddy and Naveen Kunjumon in important roles.

Nivin Pauly enjoys massive fan base in Tamil Nadu after the success of his 2015 blockbuster movie Premam. The movie had a theatrical run for more than 200 days in Tamil Nadu, which is considered a rare feat even for a Tamil film.

Richie is eagerly awaited both by the Tamil and Malayali audience.
