Nivin Pauly sporting a new look for Moothon

Nivin Pauly is currently shooting for actress turned filmmaker Geetu Mohan Das’ Moothon. The actor was recently spotted in a new look which he is apparently sporting for Moothon. He is seen with a closely cropped hair and we presume that is why he is wearing a cap in most of the public events. In the movie’s first look poster, Nivin Pauly is seen in a rough look with a shaven head and a pierced nose.

Nivin Pauly has been consciously trying to move away from his comfort zone of the regular rom-com entertainers. Last year he did Action Hero Biju, a different take from the usual cop stories. His first release this year was Sakhavu, a political drama in which he featured in multiple looks.

Moothon is about a man called Mullakoya from Lakshadweep. The movie is about his journey to find his brother. Moothon is an island slang for elder brother. Recently, the Mumbai leg of shooting was wrapped up and the team will be soon moving to Lakshadweep.

Moothon has some big names associated with it. Geetu Mohandas’ husband and cinematographer/ filmmaker Rajeev Ravi is cranking the camera. Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is making his entry to Mollywood by collaborating with Geetu Mohandas in writing the Hindi dialogues. Govind Menon is handing the music department for this movie.

Eros International and Bollywood filmmaker Anand L Rai’s new production house Colour Yellow Productions will present the movie under the banner Jar Pictures.

Geetu Mohandas’ debut movie Liar’s Dice, release in 2014, was a critically acclaimed one which was screened at several international film festivals. The movie was also India’s official entry at the 87th Academy Awards. Her story of Moothon had also won the global filmmaking award in Sundance film festival 2016.
