Nivin Pauly’s Kayamkulam Kochunni goes on floors

Director Rosshan Andrewss’ ambitious project Kayamkulam Kochunni starring Nivin Pauly in the titular role has gone on floors. After months of research and pre-production works, shoot for the movie commenced last day with a customary switch on ceremony. Nivin Pauly, Roshan Andrews, producer Gokulam Gopalan, Anto Joseph, Sunny Wayne, Babu Antony and other crew members were also present for the switch on function.

Kayamkulam Kochunni is based on the life of the legendary theif, popularly known as ‘India’s Robinhood’. The National award winning duo of Bobby and Sanjay have scripted this movie after doing extensive research for nearly two years with the help of history students.

Nivin Pauly has been working hard to get in good shape to play the role of Kochunni. The actor has already shed a few extra kilos that he had gained during Action Hero Biju time. Besides that he is also undergoing training in Kalaripayattu and horse riding. Amala Paul plays the female lead in the movie while Kannada actress Priyanka Thimmesh will also be seen in a key role.

Sunny Wayne is reportedly playing the role of a policeman in the movie. Some shooting spot stills of him wearing a khaki uniform are seen doing the rounds in social medias. Veteran actor Babu Antony is playing the crucial role of Thangal, who Kochunni looked up to as his mentor.

The technical team of Kayamkulam Kochunni also boasts of some big names like Bollywood cinematographer Binod Pradhan, National award winning sound designer PM Satheesh and Firefly Creative Studio, who handled the VFX in films like Baahubali and Enthiran. Gokulam Gopalan is funding this big budget movie under the banner of Sri Gokulam Films.
