Official: Dhanush-Rajisha Vijayan starrer titled Karnan!

‘Pariyerum Perumal’ director Mari Selvaraj’s new film with Dhanush has started rolling. As speculated earlier, the film has been titled as ‘Karnan’. The title was officially announced by producer Kalipuli S Thanu through their social media handle. Malayali actress Rajisha Vijayan is making her Kollywood debut with this film. Veteran actor Lal, Yogi Babu, Azhagar Perumal and Natty aka Natarajan Subramanian are also part of the cast.

‘Karnan’ is said to be based on Manjolai Massacre or Thamirabani massacre of 23 July 1999. 17 labourers, including two women and a two-year-old child, died when they got into the river to escape police lathi charge. Mari Selvaraj, who has also penned the screenplay, is expected to deliver a powerful film, given the subject in hand is very solid.

The film has got a strong technical crew as well. Theni Eswar is handling the cinematography and Santhosh Narayanan will be composing the music.
