Official: Trisha walks out of Vikram’s Saamy 2 aka Saamy Square

The shoot for Saamy Square, the sequel of Vikram’s 2003 superhit movie Saamy commenced last month. Hari, who helmed the first part, is directing the sequel as well. Keerthy Suresh and Trisha were roped in as the female leads. The team had been shooting at a brisk pace but they have now encountered a major jolt as Trisha has opted out of the project.

Trisha took to her Twitter space to inform that she has optee out of the project due to some creative differences. She also wished good luck for the team. Here’s what Trisha has tweeted,

“Due to creative differences,I have chosen to opt out of Saamy 2 . Wishing the team goodluck.”

In Saamy Square, Trisha was supposed to reprise her role from the first part. She had a very meaty role in the first part and her performance was much appreciated. It is not yet clear how Hari will tweak the plot to fill the vaccum that Trisha has left.

Saamy Square promises to be a typical Hari film with the mass masala formula. Vikram reprises his character Aarusaamy, a tough and forthright cop. National award winner Bobby Simha has been roped in to play the antagonist. Prabhu, Delhi Ganesh, John Vijay, Soori and Imman Annachi are also part of the supporting cast.

Priyan is handling the cinematography and Devi Sri Prasad is in charge of the music department. Shoot has been planned in locations all across the country like Tirunelveli, Chennai, Kerala, New Delhi, Noida, Agra, Jaipur, Nainital and Nepal.

Shibu Thameens, who previously produced Vikram’s Irumugan, is funding Saamy Square under the banner of Thameens Films.
