Padayottam release postponed

Many promising films were scheduled for this Onam season but rain has played spoilsport. The torrential rains continue to wreak havoc in several parts of the state. Many new releases have been severely affected and the ones scheduled for Onam are being postponed one by one. Biju Menon starrer Padayottam which was slated to hit screens has been pushed to a further date.

Producer Sophia Paul informed the news about postponing through her official social media handle. Her note reads,

As a mark of our respect to the people affected by the torrential rains in the state and to show solidarity to the efforts of our government in managing the crisis, we have changed the release date (August 17) of our movie Padayottam. The new release date will be announced shortly.

Padayottam is directed by debutant Rafeek Ibrahim. The movie is scripted jointly by newcomers Arun AR and Ajai Rahul. According to the makers, it is a serious comedy on the lines of Delhi Belly and Jigarthanda. The promos have all been promising and the movie looks like a laugh riot.
