Parthiban to direct Abhishek Bachchan in Oththa Seruppu remake

Tamil actor-filmmaker Parthiban’s most recent film ‘Oththa Seruppu Size 7’ is set to be remade in Hindi. Abhishek Bachchan will be starring in the film with Parthiban wearing the director’s hat. The film’s official launch was held last day in Chennai.

Parthiban is known for his brave experiments in filmmaking. ‘Otha Seruppu Size 7’ is a thriller with a single actor in it. He produced, wrote, directed played the lead in the film. It entered the Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records for having a single person writing, directing, solo acting and producing a film. It premiered at the Singapore South Asian Film Festival. Upon its theatrical release, the film garnered largely positive reviews. It won a couple of awards at the National level — Sound Mixing (Resul Pookutty) and Special Jury Award for Parthiban.

Parthiban had earlier the film’s Hindi remake with Nawazuddin Siddiqui. However, he got replaced by Abhishek Bachchan and the reason for the same is not yet known.
