Phars Film bag the overseas rights of Lucifer

The highly anticipated ‘Lucifer’ which marks the first time coming together of Mohanlal and Prithviraj is gearing up for release in March. While the post-production works are still progressing, the makers have struck a deal with Phars Film Co LCC for the movie’s overseas release. Reportedly, the rights have been signed for a whopping price, said to be among the highest for a Malayalam movie. Phars is one of the biggest distributors in the Middle East and ‘Lucifer’ is expected to have a wide release in the region.

Starring Mohanlal in the lead, the movie marks the directorial debut of actor Prithviraj. Murali Gopy has scripted the movie which is touted to be a mass-packed political entertainer. The movie also has some other star presence in Tovino Thomas, Vivek Oberoi, Indrajith Sukumaran and Manju Warrier. Details about the plot or the nature of the characters have been tightly guarded.

‘Lucifer’ is produced by Mohanlal’s own banner Aashirvad Cinemas. Ths movie is scheduled for release on March 28.
