cinematographer Anandakuttan passed away
Malayalam cinema had suffered yet another great loss today, as popular cinematographer Anandakuttan had passed away today. He was 62 years old and was under the treatment for cancer for some time. His death was occur at a private hospital in Kochi today.
He had been one of the most popular and skilled cameraman in Mollywood and worked in many classic films in his career. Manivathoorile Aayiram Shiva Rathrikal, Sadayam, No. 20 Madras Mail, His highness Abdulla, Atharvam, Aakshadoothu etc were the most popular films in which he worked.
He had done the cinematography of over 200 films in a career that spanned over 40 years. He was born in the year 1954 as the son of Ramakrishnan Nair and Karthyayani Amma, who were both school teachers. He had two sisters as well. He had completed his schools in Changanassery NSS school and after completing Pre-Degree, he had went to Madras for studying cinematography. He was settled in Ernakulam later. His wife’s name is Geetha and had 3 children named Sreekumar, Neelima and Karthika.
He was popularly known as the cameraman of big films in Mollywood and he had brought in an Ananda Kuttan style of cinematography as well.
