Prithviraj reveals that he was offered an opportunity to direct a film with Rajinikanth!

2019 has been a great year for Prithviraj in general. Apart from being successful as an actor, he also he made his debut as a producer and a director. His directorial debut ‘Lucifer’ starring Mohanlal in the lead emerged as a record breaking blockbuster and is now ranked as the highest grosser in Malayalam cinema history. Prithviraj’s filmmaking skills were widely appreciated and Malayali audience are already looking forward to his upcoming directorial ventures.

Recently, in an event held as part of the promotions of his latest release ‘Driving Licence’, Prithviraj made a big revelation. Apparently, the star was offered an opportunity to direct a film with Tamil superstar Rajinikanth. However, he could not take up the project as he had ‘Aadujeevitham’ in the pipeline. He jokingly said that he had never written such a long sorry note for anyone else. Prithviraj also added that letting go of such a big opportunity would be one of the biggest regrets of his life.

It is worth a mention that Prithviraj was also approached to direct the Telugu remake of ‘Lucifer’ with megastar Chiranjeevi in the lead. Due to his acting commitments, he could not take it up then. Hit maker Sukumar will be helming the project.

Prithviraj’s sophomore directorial will be ‘Empuraan’, the second part of ‘Lucifer’. As announced the makers, shoot for the same will be beginning sometime next year.
