Prithviraj Sukumaran Joins Kareena Kapoor in Meghna Gulzar’s Upcoming Film ‘Daayra’

Renowned filmmaker Meghna Gulzar has roped in Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran for her next project, tentatively titled Daayra. The film, also starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, is reportedly inspired by a true and harrowing incident. Prithviraj’s character as a cop is said to play a pivotal role in driving the storyline forward. This marks Prithviraj’s first collaboration with both Meghna and Kareena.

Initially, the role was offered to actors Ayushmann Khurrana and Sidharth Malhotra, but scheduling conflicts led to their exits. Prithviraj, known for his impressive range and powerful screen presence, found an instant connection with the film’s narrative and themes. A source close to the production revealed that while Prithviraj has not yet signed the official paperwork, he’s enthusiastic about the project’s vision and message. Kareena’s role in Daayra will reportedly present a refreshing blend of strength, intuition, and vulnerability.

With his recent acclaimed performance in Aadujeevitham: The Goat Life and a notable role in Salaar: Part I – Ceasefire, Prithviraj continues to expand his presence in Hindi cinema.
