Producer SR Prabhu confirms the second part of Kaithi

Karthi’s superhit film ‘Kaithi’ is set to have a second part. Its producer SR Prabhu confirmed the same last day during a Twitter Spaces interaction. He informed that they will begin works for the sequel once director Lokesh Kanagaraj and Karthi are free from their prior commitments.

‘Kaithi’ is an action-packed entertainer that was lapped up mainly by the youth audience. The film got released during the 2019 Diwali season. Despite releasing alongside Vijay’s ‘Bigil’, the film managed to have an excellent run at the box office. Unlike the usual mass films, ‘Kaithi’ was devoid of any unnecessary comedy, romance track or songs. The narrative had a lot of freshness and Lokesh was widely praised for successfully pulling off a quality mass masala entertainer.

After ‘Kaithi’ became a blockbuster, it was announced that the film will be remade in Hindi with superstar Ajay Devgn as the lead. More details regarding the Hindi version is still awaited.
