Prof. Ambili Marks Jagathy Sreekumar’s Grand Comeback; A Major Announcement on His Birthday

Today marks the birthday of Jagathy Sreekumar, the comedy legend of Malayalam cinema. Following an unfortunate accident in 2012, Jagathy had withdrawn completely from the film industry, with his only appearance being in the movie ‘CBI 5’ in 2022. However, after years, the iconic actor is all set for a grand comeback.

This major announcement was made on his birthday. Actor Aju Varghese revealed Jagathy’s role in the upcoming film ‘Vala’. Jagathy will be portraying a character named Professor Ambili, aka Uncle Luna.R. A character poster featuring him has also been released.

‘Vala’ is the next project from director Arun Chandu, who introduced a new genre to Malayalam cinema with his film ‘Gaganachari’. Like his previous science-fiction mockumentary, Vala also promises an innovative theme and a unique storyline. This time, the film ventures into the realm of zombies.

Alongside Jagathy Sreekumar, the cast of Vala includes Gokul Suresh, Aju Varghese, Anarkali Marikar, K.B. Ganesh Kumar, John Kaippallil, and Arjun Nandakumar. Additionally, Madhav Suresh and Bhagat Manuel will play significant roles. A noteworthy highlight is that Gokul Suresh and Madhav Suresh, the sons of Suresh Gopi, will be sharing screen space for the first time.

The film is produced by Underdogs Entertainments in collaboration with Letters Entertainments as the co-producer. The screenplay is penned by Tylor Durden and Arun Chandu. Surjith S Pai handles the cinematography, Shankar Sharma composes the music, and CeeJay Achu is in charge of editing.
