Releasing with Pulimurugan helped Thoppil Joppan become a big hit : Director Johny Antony

Thoppil Joppan directed by Johny Antony is running successfully in theatres. The Press Club of Thiruvananthapuram arranged a press meet with the director, script writer Nishad Koya and actors like Sohan Seenulal and Alencier Ley.

Johny Antony during the interaction told the medias that Thoppil Joppan is doing good business and releasing together with Pulimurugan has helped a great deal. People started talking about the movie because of the clash. He also said that movie was already decided to release on October 7th during the Navaratri celebrations.

He also talked about the many rumours and fake news published about the movie. He said, many people are trying to degrade the movie. Reviews were posted even before the release to write off the movie. More recently fake photos about the TV telecast of the movie were also posted in social media pages.

Johny Antony said that such false news can have a negative impact and affect the movie business wise. He added, people have the liberty to call a movie good or bad. But they should be genuine and should not deliberately try to bring down a movie. People from outside industry are majorly doing this to affect the business.

Cases have been registered with Cyber Cell regrading the issue to make sure that no more purposeful degrading is allowed. Thoppil Joppan is a light hearted entertainer for families to have a good laugh.

He also added that Thoppil Joppan should not be compared with yesteryear super hit Kottayam Kunjachan, just because Mammootty is playing an Achayan character again.
