Queen: Here’s the trailer of Gautham Menon’s maiden web series!

As reported by us earlier, an MX Player is coming up with a new web series titled ‘Queen’. The series is actually based on the life of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa but the makers have not retained any of the names. The story travels through three timelines starting from her childhood, to her acting career and then to her rise as a political leader. While Anikha Surendran of ‘Yennai Arindhaal’ fame plays the school days, Anjana Jayaprakash does the actor’s part. Ramya Krishnan appears as the political leader.

‘Queen’ is being directed by two directors – Gautham Vasudev Menon and Prasath Murugesan of ‘Kidaari’ fame. GVM has shot the portions featuring Ramya Krishnan and Murugesan has shot the childhood portions with Anikha Surendran. Malayali actor Indrajith Sukumaran has done an important role, which is based on legendary actor-CM MGR.

Reshma Ghatala, an associate of Gautham Menon has penned the series. It will be releasing in four regional Indian languages – Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Bengali. is scheduled to start streaming on December 14.
