Ram Gopal Varma was on the top of the world after delivering a number of super hit movies. He garnered attention owing to his unique treatment of movies. However, Ram Gopal Varma is going through a tough phase in his career since his last few movies could not make an impact on the box office.  He administered the remake of Sholay. It was a Herculean task for him since Sholay is arguably one of the best movies that is ever produced in the history of world cinema. Expectations were on sky high for this remake, especially, with Amitabh Bachchan playing the chief antagonist. However, the movie crumpled at box office and received poor response from the audience. Even critics showed no mercy and severely censured the movie for its substandard quality.

Ram Gopal Varma came up with a couple of movies after this debacle, but was unable to make amendments for the disastrous performance of his previous movie.  His career graph went down in an alarming rate after that.Varma has astounded everyone by stating that he will rather take his own life than leaning on others for the elementary requirements. He explained that he does not wish to be a liability to others. He added that he will relocate himself to a distant place and will kill himself there without causing any trouble. This is not the first time Ram Gopal Varma has made startling remarks. He has a reputation for being an outspoken and has stirred up a lot of controversies due to this attitude.

However, his comments have paved way to numerous speculations. But, as for now, there is nothing to panic as the director seems to have no intention to commit suicide in the near future. It is believed that he was just contemplating on what he would do if he is forced to live his life as a dependent person. Ram Gopal Varma is currently working on the movie Time Machine that has Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan in the lead roles and Oh God No God with Harsh Chaiyya and Divya Dutta in the central roles. He is also awaiting the release of the movie Sridevi in which he is involved as a producer.He is also assigned to direct the Telugu movies such as Idi Prema Katha Kadu, Pelli and Reddy Garu Poyaru.
