Ranjith’s Bilathikadha with Mohanlal postponed

We had earlier reported about ace filmmaker Ranjith upcoming movie ‘Bilathikadha’. The director along with writer Sethu has scripted this movie, which is said to be a romantic tale set in UK. Eventhough most of Ranjith’s movies have been with big stars, he has cast a bunch of youngsters for this movie. The lead roles in Bilathikadha will be played by Maniyanpilla Raju’s son Niranj and Anu Sithara.

Ranjith had initially cast Mammootty for a brief cameo role only to be later replaced by Mohanlal. Shoot for the movie was supposed to commence next month but latest reports suggest that it will go on floors only by June.

Mohanlal’s busy schedule is said to be the reason for postponing the shoot. Reportedly, the actor will be appearing as himself in the movie. He has allotted ten days call sheet for this movie. Though it is a guest role, the character is said to have a lot of prominence in the plot.

Bilathikadha also stars Kaniha, Jewel Mary, Kalabhavan Shajon, Suresh Krishna, Kaniha Dileesh Pothan and Kottayan Nazeer in supporting roles. Prashanth Nair will be cranking the camera and Sandeep is in charge of the edits. The movie will be produced by Maha Subair under the banner of Varnachitra Big Screen.
