Rave reviews for Vijay Sethupathi’s Seethakaathi after press show

Vijay Sethupathi’s long delayed ‘Seethakathi’ is all set to hit screens tomorrow. The makers had an exclusive show last day for the press people. The response has been extremely positive with unanimous praise for Vijay Sethupathi’s performance, music and the director’s attempt to come up with something unique. The movie is directed by Balaji Tharaneetharan, who has previously helmed Vijay Sethupathi’s ‘Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom’.

‘Seethakaathi’ is a film about theatre artists and their lives. The movie has Vijay Setupathi playing a legendary actor Ayya, and he appears in multiple looks in the film. Oscar Award-winning make up artist Kevin Haney has designed his looks in the movie. From the trailer, we get to know that Ayya, who is a famous theatre artist and a cine actor. Due to some unknown reasons, he is unwilling to attend shoots of his already committed projects. We will have to wait till tomorrow to know more about the movie.

‘Seethakaathi’ is a special for Vijay Sethupathi as it is his 25th film and Ayya is said to be one of the most challenging roles in his career. After the press show we have come to know that the actor has a screen time of only around 40 minutes in the movie. According to him, that 40 minutes is the film. The rest of the movie will be the reaction to that impact. The subject will be commercial, but not in the same style you’re used to in cinema. Along with Vijay Sethupathi, the cast also includes Archana, J Mahendran, Bagavathy Perumal, Rajkumar, Parvatii Nair and Remya Nambeesan.

Govind Vasantha, best known his work in ’96’, is the music director. Saraskanth is the DOP and R Govindraj, the edior. The movie is being produced jointly by Sudhan Sundaram, Umesh, Jayaram and Arun Vaidyanathan under the banner of Passion Studios.
