RC 15: Shankar’s next is with Ram Charan

Recently, there was a buzz that Tamil filmmaker Shankar is hugely planning to team up with Telugu star Ram Charan. It has now been officially confirmed that they indeed are joining hands. Dil Raju and Shirish are producing the film under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations. It is planned as pan-Indian film that will be released in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi. More details are expected to be out in the coming days.

Shankar was last working on ‘Indian 2’ with Kamal Haasan but the project has been shelved for almost a year now. It was first reported that there were creative differences between Kamal and Shankar. It was also alleged that the film’s budget shot up massively, which caused a rift between Shankar and the production house, Lyca. An unfortunate accident on sets that killed 3 crew members caused further delay. More recently, it was reported that cameraman Rathnavelu opted out due to the delay. The project’s current status is unknown.
