Sangeeth Sivan passes away
Director Sangeeth Sivan passed away on Wednesday. He breathed his last while undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Mumbai. The eldest of the Sivan siblings, Sangeeth is known for helming some memorable films in Malayalam and Hindi. He is best known for directing Vyooham (1990), Yodha (1992) and Kyaa Kool Hai Hum (2005) and Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 (2013).
Sangeeth made his directorial debut with Vyooham, which starred Raghuvaran. His second film Yodha is a hugely popular film even today. Many regard the Mohanlal-starrer as one of the finest films ever made in Malayalam. Sangeeth also collaborated with Mohanlal in Nirnayam and Gandharvam.
Sangeeth directed his first Hindi film, Zor, with Sunny Deol. His last release the Zee5 Original Hindi series Bhram, headlined by Kalki Koechlin and Bhumika Chawla. The director also had plans to remake the Malayalam blockbuster Romancham in Hindi.
Sangeeth’s demise has left a huge void in the industry. Many celebs from across languages have poured in their condolences for the family.
