Santosh Sivan picks the special actors he has worked with!
Santosh Sivan is one of the most respected technicians in the whole of Indian cinema. After starting his career as a cinematographer in Malayalam, he went on to work in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and English films. A very active person on Twitter, Sivan recently tweeted about the most special actors he has worked with. Out of the numerous stars that he has collaborated with, he picked the names of Rajinikanth, Ambitabh Bachchan, Mohanlal, Mahesh Babu and Shah Rukh Khan.
Santosh Sivan has worked with Ambitabh Bachchan in many ads and films on health and environment issues, like the Polio campaign. With Mohanlal, he has worked in films like ‘Yodha’, ‘Kalapani’, ‘Iruvar’, ‘Vanaprastham’ etc. There are also unconfirmed reports about Sivan directing Mohanlal in a big budget period flick, rumored to be titled as ‘Kaliyugam’.
At present, Santosh Sivan is cranking camera for ‘Darbar’, the cop action flick starring Rajinikanth. It marks his reunion with the superstar after a gap of 28 long years. The last time they worked together was in Mani Ratnam’s classic hit, ‘Thalapathi’. ‘Darbar’ is also Sivan’s third film with director AR Murugadoss after ‘Thuppakki’ and ‘Spyder’.
Santosh Sivan’s directorial venture ‘Jack and Jill’ in Malayalam is also getting ready in the meanwhile. The film starring Manju Warrier, Soubin Shahir and Kalidas Jayaram is in its post-production stage.
