Sarkar set to release in record number of screens in Kerala

Vijay is arguably the most popular non-Malayali actor in Kerala. His movies have always had rousing reception here and the welcoming is most often bigger than the ones for Malayalam superstars. As his new film Sarkar gears up for release, there is a good positive buzz in trade circles. The movie directed by AR Murugadoss is touted to be a political thriller. Vijay’s previous two collaborations with the director – Kaththi and Thuppakki – were massive blockbusters in the state, so expectations are huge this time as well.

Ifar International bagged Sarkar’s Kerala distribution rights for a huge amount. They are now planning to release the movie in record number of screens in the state. Theatre chartings have already started. Along with that fan clubs are also organizing exclusive early morning shows for their members.

Since the movie is slated to release on Diwali day, it is most likely to break the opening day collection record in Kerala. The actor’s last film Mersal, which was also released on Diwali day, had a record opening and did huge overall business here. With Sarkar, trade experts have predicted another huge blockbuster.
