Satellite rights of Mammootty’s Shylock bagged by Surya TV

Mammootty is currently shooting for ‘Shylock’, a mass entertainer directed by Ajai Vasudev. Joby George of Goodwill Entertainment is producing the film. Even before the completion of shoot, the film’s satellite rights have been bagged by one of the market leaders, Surya TV. Though the exact amount for which the rights were acquired have not yet been revealed, it is expected to be a quite a hefty amount.

Scripted by newcomers Bibin Mohan and Aneesh Hameed, ‘Shylock’ is said to be an action-packed mass entertainer. Mammootty plays a financier’s role in the film and his character is said to be a grey shaded one. Veteran Tamil actor Raj Kiran is making his Malayalam debut with this film. He is playing an equally important role. Meena will be seen as the female lead. She has been paired with Raj Kiran.

‘Shylock’ has been planned as a Tamil-Malayalam bilingual. Its core technical crew includes cinematographer Renadive, music director Gopi Sunder, editor Riyas K Badhar and art director Vinod Raveendran. If things go as per plans, the movie will be hitting screens for this year’s Christmas in December.
