Shabaash Mithu: Here’s the first look of Indian cricketer Mithali Raj’s biopic!

Bollywood’s obsession with biopics continue. Mithali Raj, arguably the greatest woman cricketer to have represented India, is the latest to get one. Taapsee Pannu is playing the lead in the film, which has been titled as ‘Shabaash Mithu’. First look poster of the film has just been released online. ‘Raees’ fame Rahul Dholakia is directing the film and Priya Aven has scripted it. Taapsee is currently undergoing rigorous cricket training as part of preparations for the film.

Mithali Raj is a veteran with over 20 years of experience in international cricket. She is regarded as one of the greatest batswomen to have ever played the game. Mithali owns numerous records to her name like being the highest run-scorer in women’s international cricket and the only female cricketer to surpass the 6,000 run mark in WODIs. She is the also only woman cricketer to have played over 200 ODIs.

‘Shabaash Mithu’ is scheduled for worldwide release on February 5, 2021.
