Shafi planning to direct Mohanlal?

According to latest reports from our sources within the industry, superhit filmmaker Shafi is planning to direct a movie with Mohanlal in the lead. The director has been in talks with Mohanlal for sometime now but things could not materialize. However, it seems like the much awaited union will happen this time.

Shafi is a self confessed fan of Mohanlal and Mammootty. It was his dream to make movies with the superstars who attracted him to the world of cinema. Shafi has worked with Mammootty four times in his career- Thommanum Makkalum, Mayavi, Chattambinadu and Venicile Vyapari. And it finally looks like things are falling in place for a Mohanlal starrer.

Shafi is known for dishing out quality commercial entertainers with prominence to humour. Some of his movies like Pulivaal Kalyanam, Kalyanaraman, One Man Show, Marykkundoru Kunjaadu etc are still a favourite for audience who like to laugh their hearts out. His movie with Mohanlal is also expected to be an out and out comedy entertainer.

We are still waiting for an official confirmation regarding the teaming up of Mohanlal and Shafi. The superstar meanwhile has committed for multiple projects. He is yet to finish shooting for the final schedule of B Unnikrishnan’s Villain.

This year Mohanlal will also be working on Lal Jose’s untitled movie and Shrikumar Menon’s big budget fantasy movie Odiyan. A Shaji Kailas- Renji Panicker film, Prithviraj’s directorial debut Lucifer and the magnum opus The Mahabharata are the other movies in Mohanlal’s kitty.
