Shahid Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna to Lead Dinesh Vijan’s Cocktail 2

Dinesh Vijan is bringing back the magic of his 2012 hit Cocktail with a sequel, Cocktail 2, featuring an all-new ensemble cast. Shahid Kapoor has been roped in to headline this romantic comedy, taking over from Saif Ali Khan. The exciting addition to the cast is Rashmika Mandanna, who will play one of the two leading ladies in this love triangle. The search for the second heroine is reportedly nearing completion, with hints pointing to a frequent Maddock Films collaborator.

Directed by Homi Adajania, who helmed the original, Cocktail 2 promises a modern exploration of love, friendship, and free-spirited relationships, designed to resonate with today’s audiences. Production is set to begin in April-May 2025.

This project marks the long-awaited collaboration between Shahid and Rashmika, who were earlier set to star in a comedy by Anees Bazmee. Rashmika, fresh off her success with Pushpa 2, continues to build an impressive lineup with films like Sikandar and Kubera.

Shahid, currently shooting Vishal Bhardwaj’s Arjun Ustara, will shift focus to Cocktail 2 after wrapping up his cop drama Deva, slated for release on January 31, 2025. Fans can expect a refreshing mix of emotions, music, and drama in this sequel!
