Shamna Kasim will be seen with a tonsured head in her upcoming movie with Sasikumar

Shamna Kasim, also known by the stage name Poorna is someone who made it to the industry through television shows. Hailing from a non-filmy background, she started her career as a classical dancer and participated in the reality-based dance competition Super Dancer on Amrita TV.

She made her acting debut in the 2004 Malayalam film Manju Poloru Penkutty. She also acted in supporting roles in other films like Pachakuthira, December, Ennitum, Hrudhayaththil Sookshikkan etc . After failing to get better opportunities in Mollywood she moved on to other South Indian industries.

Presently, she is an established actress in Kollywood with some exciting projects in her kitty. For her upcoming movie Kodi Veeran, Shamna has gone the extra yard to perfect her character. She has shaved her head completely as her role demanded it. Muthiah of Komban fame is directing this movie which stars Sasikumar in the lead role.

Most mainstream actresses would have refrained from doing such a gutsy thing. However, Shamna has bo qualms in shaving her head. The actress is gratified to be a part of a film which she believes will bring her recognition. The actress was convinced about the script and had complete trust in the director.

Savarakathi, her next film in which she stars alongside directors Mysskin and Ram is also a much expected project. Mysskin’s brother G R Adityan is directing this movie. Shamna is playing the role of a hearing impaired pregnant lady in the film.
