Shane Nigam in Mohanlal’s Lucifer?

Shane Nigam is widely regarded as one of the most talented among the younger generation of actors in Malayalam cinema. He has showcased his terrific acting skills in films like Kismath, C/O Saira Banu, Parava and more recently in Eeda. Shane belongs to the rare breed of natural or realistic actors. He is effortless while performing emotional scenes, which is generally considered as the toughest thing to do in front of a camera.

However, there were complaints about the actor getting typecast in similar roles. Most of his movies had him playing a depressed youth, but this year promises to be different as he has signed for a handful movies belonging to different genres. Shaji N Karun’s Oolu, Kumbalangi Nights, Devan’s Painkili and Dimel’s Valiya Perunnal are some of his upcoming movies.

If reports are to be believed, Shane Nigam has bagged a crucial role in the highly anticipated ‘Lucifer’. The movie starring Mohanlal marks the directorial debut of actor Prithviraj. Murali Gopy is scripting this movie, which is said to be a thriller. Reportedly, Shane has been roped in to play an important role in the movie. Names like Tovino Thomas and Indrajith are also doing the rounds but an official announcement regarding the cast and crew have not yet been made. Antony Perumbavoor’s Aashirvad Cinemas is funding Lucifer which is slated to go on floors by May this year.
