Shane Nigam to star in Bhadran’s Joothan

Back in 2019, it was announced that veteran director Bhadran would be teaming up with Joju George, Soubin Shahir and Rima Kallingal for a film titled ‘Joothan’. However, the project never took off due to unknown reasons. After three years, it seems like the director is planning to revive it. Shane Nigam is replacing Soubin Shahir in the film. Rima Kallingal’s role is likely to be done by Mamta Mohandas. Joju, Indrans, Joy Mathew and Sharafudheen are also expected to be part of the cast.

‘Joothan’ is scripted by S Suresh Babu, who has earlier written films like ‘Nadan’, ‘Shikkar’ and ‘Kanal’. It is said to be a psychological thriller with mystery elements in it. When the project was first announced, it was revealed that Soubin will be playing a Jewish character named Eo Eliyavu Kohan. It will be interesting to see how Shane plays this role.

Cinematographer Lokanadhan S, National award winning production designer Vinesh Banglan and music director Sushin Shyam were initially announced as part of the technical crew. It remains to be seen if the same team will be retained.

The makers are planning to start shoot in September, 2022.
