Shankar to remake Anniyan in Bollywood with Ranveer Singh?

If reports are to be believed, Tamil filmmaker Shankar is planning to team up with Bollywood star Ranveer Singh. It is said that the director is set to remake his own blockbuster film ‘Anniyan’ in Hindi with Ranveer as the lead. It must be remembered that ‘Anniyan’ was dubbed and released in Hindi as ‘Aparichit’. It is a very popular film among the North Indian audience as it is one of the most telecast films in Hindi television channels. So the makers are not eyeing a scene-by-scene remake as such.

Since ‘Anniyan’ was released 16 yeaes back in 2005, Shankar is reportedly planning to adapt ‘Anniyan’ in such a way that the story is set in today’s timeline. With a big star like Ranveer Singh on board, the film is expected to be made on a much bigger scale than the original. A confirmation is still awaited.

Meanwhile, Shankar’s immediate next will be with Telugu star Ram Charan. Dil Raju and Shirish are producing the film under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations. Though the makers are yet to confirm, it is said that they planning a pan-Asian film. There were even reports about them approaching South Korean actor Bae Suzy to star opposite Ram Charan.
