Shoot completed for Suriya’s Soorarai Pottru

After just around four months of shoot, Suriya’s new film ‘Soorarai Pottru’ has been wrapped up. The film is directed by Sudha Kongara of ‘Irudhi Suttru’ fame. Academy award winner Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment is producing the film with Suriya’s 2D Entertainment. Last day, the team had a small wrap up party, photos of which have been shared online.

‘Soorarai Pottru scripted jointly by Shalini Usha Nair and Sudha Kongara is loosely based on the life of GR Gopinath, the founder of Air Deccan, who is also a retired captain of the Indian army. Suriya appears in multiple looks in the film, which includes a closely cropped hairstyle that reminds of an army man.

Malayali actress Aparna Balamurali is paired with Suriya in the film. Veteran actors Paresh Rawal, Jackie Shroff and Mohan Babu will also be seen essaying prominent roles. The film has camera cranked by Niketh Bommireddy, music by GV Prakash and stunts handled by Hollywood action choreographer Greg Powell. It is expected to hit screens in January during Pongal holidays.
