Siddharth applauds Pinarayi Vijayan government’s decision to distribute free food kits

As the second save of pandemic has caused a steep surge in the number of cases, State governments across the country have enforced strict restrictions. States like Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka have called for a complete lockdown. In Kerala, the lockdown started yesterday (May ? and will last till May 16. To ensure that no one is affected during this period, the government has announced that it will be providing free food kits to families and migrant labourers in the state.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan tweeted,

Nobody will go hungry during the lockdown. Next week onwards free food kits will be distributed for all families and guest workers. Food will be delivered to the needy from People’s Restaurants and Community Kitchens through Local Self Government Institutions.

The government’s decision to provide free food kits is being unanimously praised. Actor Siddharth, one of the most vocal persons in the Twitter space, has applauded the decision by sharing Pinarayi’s tweet. Recently also, when the LDF government won the Assembly elections, Siddharth had congratulated Pinarayi who led from the front.
