Soorarai Pottru teaser garners extraordinary response as fans welcome vintage Suriya!

Amidst high expectations, the teaser of Suriya starrer ‘Soorarai Pottru’ got released online lady day. Going by the response in social medias, one can easily say that the teaser has exceeded all the expectations. This highly ambitious film directed by ‘Irudhi Suttru’ fame Sudha Kongara is loosely based on the life of GR Gopinath, the founder of Air Deccan, who is also a retired captain of the Indian army. Sudha has scripted the film along with Shalini Usha Nair.

From the teaser we can make out that, Suriya plays a character named Nedumaaran Rajangam Maara, a common man hailing from a small town who dreams of owning an aircraft business. Suriya is absolutely riveting in the teaser as we see glimpses of a power-packed performance. It has been a long while since he has done such a powerful role and now it looks like the vintage Suriya is back.

Fans, cinephiles as well as industry insiders have been highly impressed by the teaser. The film has shades of Mani Ratnam’s ‘Guru’, which is also the story of the rise of an industrialist. It is worth a mention here that director Sudha was a former associate of Mani Ratnam.

Along with Suriya, the cast of ‘Soorarai Pottru’ also includes veterans Paresh Rawal, Jackie Shroff and Mohan Babu in major roles. Malayali actress Aparna Balamurali plays the female lead. GV Prakash is composing the music and cinematography is done by Niketh Bommireddy. Academy Award winner Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment is producing the film jointly with Suriya’s own production house, 2D Entertainment.
