Soubin Shahir likely to play the lead in Ithihasa 2

It has been exactly three years since the release of Ithihasa, the sleeper hit of 2014. The movie featuring a bunch of youngsters in the team emerged commercially successful taking everyone by surprise. Today, on the third anniversary of the movie’s release, the makers have announced its sequel by unveiling the title poster.

Binu S, who made his debut with Ithihasa, is directing the sequel as well. While the first part had Shine Tom Chacko, Anusree and Balu Varghese in major roles, the makers are yet to reveal the cast of the second part.

Sources within the industry suggest that Soubin Shahir is most likely to play the lead in this upcoming movie. Soubin is currently on a high after the smashing success of his debut directorial Parava. However, an official confirmation about the casting is still awaited.

Ithihasa is a fun filled entertainer that had some interesting fantasy elements. It was the story of body swapping between a conservative young software techie girl and an easy going young petty thief. This happens after they unknowingly wear rings that had some magical powers.

The sequel’s title poster also has these two rings and looks like it will be the continuation of the previous story. Sinoj P Ayyappan will be cranking the camera and Bavan Sreekumar will be in charge of the edits. Gopi Sunder has replaced Deepak Dev to handle the music department. Rajesh Augustine is producing Ithihasa 2 and Ark Media will be presenting it.
