Sreenivasan lost 15 kg for his role in Ayal Sasi

We are used to seeing stars beefing up or shedding a few kilos for playing a particular character. But, it’s not often that we hear about aged character actors going the extra yard to perfect their looks for a movie. Veteran actor Sreenivasan, has stunned everyone by losing around 15 kilos to play the lead role in his upcoming movie, Ayal Sasi.

Sreenivasan is playing a 65 year old character in the movie, directed by Sajin Babu. Ayal Sasi is a movie that will discuss about the economic, political and religious aspects in the society.

Sreenivasan’s character in the movie, Sasi will be seen as healthy and hale person at the beginning of the movie. He tries to become popular and lead a life by all means. Sasi is someone who wants to create an identity of his own.

The director in a recent interview shared more details about the character, “As a youngster Sasi relocates to city from outskirts and tries his hands at everything from loan-sharking to art. He buys paintings from fine arts students at paltry sums and then holds exhibitions posing as the artist.”

Sreenivasan had a low calorie diet for almost four months to lose his weight. Interestingly, the actor worked in the movie without taking any remuneration. Kochu Preman, Anil Nedumangadu, Rajesh Sharma and Kammattipadam fame Divya Gopinath are also part of the cast.
