SS Rajamouli’s diplomatic stand on getting the Padmasree title !

Today our nation is celebrating the 67th republic day and as a part of the republic day celebration, civilian and military honors were announced. Many celebrities from the field of entertainment got different titles of Padmasree, Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhooshan etc. Superstar Rajinikanth won the Padma Vibhooshan which is the second highest civilian honor after Bharath Ratna.

The South Indian Film MakerSS Rajamouli who shot to fame all over India with his magnum Opus flick Bahubali had also awarded with the Padmasree title. SS Rajamouli had posted a status on his Facebook page after hearing the news and it is a sort of diplomatic stand between the surprise of receiving that honor and not desired or expected to get it to get it. SS Rajamouli in his status says that last year Andhra Pradesh Government had decided to recommend his name for Padma Award but he refused to recommend his name citing some reason. Even though they insisted, because of his refusal they dropped the plan.

But this year he was not at all aware that his name is recommended by Karnataka Government. Even though he was born in Karnataka, he studied in Andhra Pradesh and worked in Tamil. He now lives in Telengana as well. He says that he is happy to be the son of all states.

SS Rajamouli here had really took a diplomatic stand regarding to which state he really belongs as he made Andhrapradesh government to drop his name from the nomination list of Padmasri last year. If he was aware he is recommended by Karnataka Government this year, he hints that he may have told them to drop the plan as well. But he is happy now as he was accepted by all south Indian states as one of their son.
