Stunt choreographer from Hollywood to be part of Suriya’s next

Suriya’s new film ‘Soorarai Pottru’ with director Sudha Kongara is currently on floors. Loosely based on the life of GR Gopinath, the founder of Air Deccan and a retired captain of the Indian army, the movie has Malayali actress Aparna Balamurali paired with Suriya. Academy award winner Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment is producing the movie jointly with Suriya’s 2D Entertainment.

Interestingly, the makers have roped in stunt choreographer Greg Powell to handle the action sequences. Powell has worked in action-heavy Hollywood films like ‘Skyfall’, ‘Fast and Furious’ and ‘Bourne Ultimatum’. It will be interesting to see his style of work in the upcoming Suriya starrer. The movie has camera cranked by Niketh Bommireddy and music by GV Prakash.

‘Soorarai Pottru’ is said to be a very ambitious project. The makers had worked on the pre-production itself for over a year. Shalini Usha Nair and Sudha Kongara have jointly scripted the movie.
