Suresh Gopi reveals that Shankar hadn’t seen any of his films before I
Malayalam actor Suresh Gopi is quite a popular face among the Tamil audience thanks to the success of films like ‘Dheena’ and ‘Samasthanam’. His last outing in Tamil was in ‘I’, in which he played the villain role opposite Vikram. Interestingly, the film’s director Shankar hadn’t seen any of Suresh Gopi’s films before that. He bagged the role after Shankar was highly impressed with the way he hosted the popular TV show, ‘Njan Koodeeshwaran’. Suresh Gopi’s performance in the film was noted and his dialogue ‘Athukkum Mela’ is still popular among the masses.
After five years, Suresh Gopi is making a return to Kollywood with ‘Tamilarasan’ starring Vijay Antony in the lead. The veteran is supposedly playing the villain role in the film, which is written and directed by Babu Yogeswaran. In Malayalam, he has ‘Kaaval’ and a film each with directors Mathew Thomas and Rahul Ramachandran of ‘Jeem Boom Bhaa’ fame.
