Suriya 40: Rajkiran and Suriya to share screen space after 20 years!

Suriya’s new film with director Pandiraj recently went on floors. Sun Pictures is producing the film, which has been tentatively titled as ‘Suriya 40’. The film has a big supporting cast comprising of several known actors. Priyanka Arul Mohan of ‘Gang Leader’ fame plays the female lead’s role. Sathyaraj, Saranya Ponvannan, Jayaprakash, Ilavarasan, Devadarshini, Subbu Panchu Arunachalam and ‘Vada Chennai’ fame Saran will be seen in supporting roles.

Latest addition to the cast is Rajkiran. The veteran, who is very choosy with his films, said to be cast in a very important role. Interestingly, it is after 20 long years that Suriya and Rajkiran are sharing screen space. They last worked together in the Bala directorial ‘Nandha’, which was a big turning point in Suriya’s career. Both their performances in it were praiseworthy.

‘Suriya 40’ is expected to be a proper commercial entertainer that appeals to all sections of the audience. It is said to be planned on lines of director Pandiraj’s last two films — ‘Kadaikutty Singam’ and ‘Namma Veettu Pillai’, both of which found wide acceptance among the families.

‘Suriya 40’ has Rathnavelu as the cinematographer and D Imman as the composer. Ruben handles the edits.
