Suriya gifts a car to his Thaana Serntha Koottam director Vignesh Shivan!

Suriya started the year on a high with the success of Thaana Serntha Koottam (TSK). The movie directed by Vignesh Shivan was released during the Pongal season January and emerged as a big success at the box office. As a token of appreciation for the movie’s success, Suriya presented a brand new luxury Toyota car to Vignesh Shivan. The director shared the happy news with his followers in Twitter and thanked Suriya for the kind gesture.

This is not the first time Suriya is doing such a gesture. He had earlier gifted a Toyota Fortuner to Hari after the release of Singam 3. Tamil cinema’s other top stars like Vijay and Ajith have also presented their directors and colleagues with valuable gifts.

Earlier in a couple of interviews, Suriya had opened up about how he was impressed with Vignesh Shivan’s style of filmmaking. The youngster knows the pulse of the audience very well and delivers accordingly. Even though Thaana Serntha was the remake of Special 26, it was not a scene-by-scene remake as Vignesh Shivan reworked the script to suit the sensibilities of the Tamil audience. He brought in the unemployment angle and some mass elements to present it as a colorful festive entertainer. Critically also TSK managed to get good reviews with most of them praising the director for bringing back the good old charming Suriya.

Vignesh Shivan is currently working on the script for his upcoming movie with Sivakarthikeyan. KE Gnanavel Raja will be producing this movie, which is expected to commence once Sivakarthikeyan is done with his other commitments.
