Suriya in Talks for Tamil Film with ‘Aavesham’ Director Jithu Madhavan?

Malayalam filmmaker Jithu Madhavan, known for his successful directorials Romancham and Aavesham, is reportedly all set to make his Tamil debut. As per strong industry buzz, Jithu Madhavan is in talks with Tamil superstar Suriya for a new film backed by V Creations, the production house owned by Kalaippuli S Thanu. While there is no official confirmation yet, sources indicate that discussions are progressing steadily and the collaboration is expected to take off later this year. If the project materializes, it will mark a major crossover for Jithu into Tamil cinema, teaming up with one of its most bankable stars.

The film is said to feature Suriya as a police officer, a role he has played memorably in the past. Interestingly, reports also suggest that several prominent Malayalam actors will be part of the ensemble cast, making it a pan-South Indian venture. This development comes after the long-delayed Vaadivaasal project with Vetrimaaran was reportedly shelved, prompting Kalaippuli S Thanu to plan individual films with both Suriya and Vetrimaaran. Jithu’s entry into this space seems to be part of that reshuffling.

Meanwhile, the director had initially planned separate projects with Malayalam stars Mohanlal and Fahadh Faasil, but due to scheduling conflicts, those films have been pushed to next year. Additionally, there are also rumors that Jithu Madhavan is developing a sequel to Aavesham, following its blockbuster success. As fans await official confirmation, the potential Suriya-Jithu Madhavan film is already generating considerable excitement across both Kollywood and Mollywood circuits.
